Do you need to review a long period of recorded video but not have the time to do it ? Are you accustomed to watching live video for long periods looking for a subject just to determine patterns of presence, and using a lot of wireless bandwidth in the process ? Boundless' optional, patent-pending, Rapid Review™ is the answer.

Boundless' Rapid Review™ is time-lapse video that is integrated with Boundless' normal recorded video. It is created continuously and automatically within Boundless' Smart Cameras™. No external equipment, software, communications bandwidth to a server, or effort is required.

When you need to quickly know if something changed, such as a item was left or taken, something changed or was damaged, a vehicle or someone arrived or departed, you view the Rapid Review™ recorded video over the air. An hour's video can be viewed in a mere 30 seconds, bandwidth-permitting, at 120X speed. A day's recorded video can be viewed in a mere 45 seconds, at 1,920X speed, bandwidth-permitting. When you spot something of interest, you pause playback of the normal video, back it up a little, click Clone playback time, then view the shaper and smoother, lower data rate but high definition normal recorded video at 4X speed to confirm the event. When you confirm the event, you pause playback, back it up a little, click Clone playback time, and view the much sharper and higher resolution, high data rate recorded video.

With the Rapid Review™ time-lapse video created hourly, an entire month's video requires only about 800 MB.

Time-lapse videos created hourly are highly compressed and created from one snapshot every 30 seconds from the lower data rate normal recorded video. Time-lapse videos created daily are highly compressed and created from one snapshot every 15 minutes from the lower data rate normal recorded video. They are intended for the spotting of slow changing events, for events that last at least as long as the time between snapshots, not a vehicle driving by without stopping.

How does one determine when particular individuals are present, or if anyone is present ? How does one determine if anyone was present previously, and if so, who ?

One solution is video surveillance. But monitoring video from cameras, especially outdoor ones, to spot suspects is a daunting task. Humans lack the time and memory to continuously watch surveillance video, remember when every person and vehicle came and went during recent days or weeks, and spot patterns in this big data mountain of information. Distance, darkness, glare and vehicles conceal identities. Motion-activated video is useless with a busy street. Face recognition doesn’t work at a distance or under variable lighting. Video analytics don’t help when everything looks normal. Fighting a multitude of recurring crimes and terrorists suffers.
